...words from the band...
(8/1/05)

I'm not sure how many people, if any, will check this out.  Since Pond Monkeys has gone "inactive" there hasn't been a whole lot of need to update the website.  But there have been enough recent developments with the band to warrant another post.

1)  Breathing Buildings CDs are now available at CD Exchange in Pittsburg, KS.  There are not many left, and when they sell out, there probably will not be another printing, so I encourage you to check out the CD while you still can.  If you're not 100% satisfied with the music, I guarantee a refund.  That's how confident I am in the CD.  Yesiree.

2)  A retrospective Pond Monkeys DVD is now available.  The DVD contains tons of photos, concert footage, and quite a bit of extra material.  E-mail the band for a DVD.

3)  Pond Monkeys guitarist/singer Daniel Brasuell has moved to Nashville, Tennessee.

4)  For the past 4 or so years I've been paying a monthly fee of $9.99 to Tripod in order to host the Pond Monkeys website and to have enough space for all of the pictures and music on the site.  I'm pretty sure that there's no reason to maintain the website at its current state any longer, so a lot of the music and old photos will probably be eliminated pretty soon.  If I do continue to maintain the site, it will switch over to information regarding The Noise.

5)  Austin and myself have started a project with Trent and Duncan from Army of Prawnz called The Noise.  We are currently writing and recording material and are planning to start booking shows very soon.  http://myspace.com/thenoisemusic  The music of The Noise is quite a departure from that of Pond Monkeys, but I think you'll enjoy it.  No, it's not screamo emo.

I do hope that you'll continue to occasionally check back in with www.pondmonkeys.com.  If and when there are any further developments with the band, it will be posted immediately.  And be sure to hit the messageboard.

good night

Well, I have mixed emotions about it, but we have decided to book one more show at The Bridge in Joplin, MO.  Originally, we were hoping to have our final concert at The Bridge on June 25, but when that date didn't work out due to some scheduling conflicts, we had to back out and we decided that the Good Ol' Days would be our last show.  We all wanted to play Joplin one more time though, so when I realized we could perform with Army Of Prawnz at The Bridge this coming Saturday, June 18, I contacted John at The Bridge.  He was glad to have us, and we're glad to be playing there.  The reason I was semi-reluctant to book it is probably pretty obvious -- we advertised our Good Ol' Days show as our final performance, so it seems kind of contradictory to book anymore concerts.  Oh well, I love playing the new stuff and I'm glad to have the opportunity to perform it at least one more time.

I'm not sure what our set will be like, but I promise that we'll do our best to put on a hard-rocking, energetic show.  Hopefully it'll be a memorable finale.

I posted another new set of photos (courtesy of Matt Brown) from Good Ol' Days.  And there should be a few additions to the merch page before too long, as well as lots of news about upcoming shows that may or may not feature Pond Monkeys band members.

Adios.

Breathing Buildings is available now.  I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

If anyone's interested, I wrote a very long and in-depth Pond Monkeys Career Retrospective/History/Critique that can be read here:

http://pond_monkey.tripod.com/retrospective.html

More information will be available soon.  Thanks for everything!

For nearly two years now we have been using a picture that Rhianna took at our Grand Emporium show in KC for the website, CDs, and promotional material.  It is one of the coolest pictures we've ever had, and I am very thankful that she took it for us.  I figure with all the changes that are taking place with the band and with the release of Breathing Buildings, it was time to retire that picture and try something a little different.  Hence the revamped website.  It's a bit simpler to navigate and read, in my opinion, so I'll leave it for now.  Plus, it's already blurry, so that'll make it easier to blur out Daniel when he leaves...  The Merch, Music, Photos, Band and Other pages have all been updated.  I originally had some other website design ideas that I may try later this summer.  Bear with us as we weed out the broken links and fix any glitches in the new design.

If you made it out to the Foxtown show last Saturday, thank you.  That show was probably the most fun I've had performing in a long time.  It was a hard rocking set and we had several friends join us onstage.  Thanks Logan & Trent for adding some percussion and vocals to a couple of songs.  I know Austin was having a blast too, so I'm glad so many of you could be there to enjoy it with us.  We have a couple of events left before Daniel departs for Nashville.  We're planning a big CD Release/Dance Party/CD Listening Party/Concert/Cookout for next Friday, May 20.  I'll be sending out an e-mail to all mailing list members with information.  It has potential to be a really fun time.  Hopefully we'll see you there.  We (I) would like an RSVP if possible so I'll know how many wieners and sodas to get.

A new t-shirt will be released in time for the Good Ol' Days show.  It's by far our most ridiculous design yet--and that's saying something.  Austin found the idea and had me draw up the picture.  It should turn out alright.  Hopefully.

Cheers to all.

(4/27/05)

After nearly seven years of performing together, Pond Monkeys is reaching a point of closure.  I would much rather say the band is going on an 'indefinite hiatus' than actually breaking up.  The words 'breaking up' seem to imply something negative, like a failed relationship.  That's not the case here at all.  This is for the most part a mutual decision among all of us in Pond Monkeys.

I'll be the first to admit that I honestly never thought this day would come.  In a way, I suppose that's very naive of me.  Foolish of me to think we could do this forever.  When Derek, Austin and I started this in middle school, I never would have thought that we would last this long or that we would have had the success that we have achieved.  And now that I'm faced with the fear of having to put Pond Monkeys on hold, I realize how much I don't want to stop.

For the past seven years this band has been one of the most important things in my life.  Friends, fans, school and relationships have all come and gone, but, aside from my family, the band has been the single most consistent thing in my life.  Performing music with Pond Monkeys has helped to keep me sane and helped me to make it through middle school, high school, and now college.  Even more importantly, the band has given me something to always be happy about.  If you've been to any Pond Monkeys concerts in the past year, you've probably seen me grinning on stage.  That's probably not a very rock-star-ish thing to do, but I haven't been able to stop myself from smiling when we're performing.  I have loved every single minute of being in this band, and I have no regrets.

And though it does make me very sad that this day has come (more than I'll ever be able to express), this decision is somewhat easier when I realize how much we have to be proud of.  I am going to brag on my band now.  Be warned, I express no sense of modesty in the next paragraph.

From winning in the National Got Milk? Battle Of The Bands with 'Misconstrue,' to being featured a couple of times on Channel One News, we have accomplished things that few independent bands, let alone a band from Fort Scott , KS, could ever hope to do.  Yes, we even beat The Sound And The Fury in the 2003 Pittsburg State University Battle Of The Bands (though I'm still not completely confident about that one).  Most recently we played The Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS--my dream of about 5 years, as corny as that may sound.  We wrote 'Prepare The Noose.'  Ha.

And we did it all with a band name as ridiculous Pond Monkeys.  For the record, I am aware of how immature our band name may sound to a stranger.  And Lord knows how many times we've been turned down for shows because of it.  But we've had this name since the beginning.  It fits.  We occasionally discussed the possibility of changing our band name if a booking agent or small label wanted us to, but changing the name in order to book a show at The Setlist in Warrensburg, MO, was never an option.  If someone wasn't open-minded enough to listen to music because of a band name, I'm not sure I would want them as a 'fan' anyway.

On another note are the more significant achievements made on a larger scale.  I am aware that we have helped play a big part in exposing some of Fort Scott's youth to forms of music and entertainment that have often been ignored in our community.  I am proud to say that along with the help of some other great Fort Scott bands, we have helped to spark the beginnings of what can actually be referred to as a music 'scene' in Fort Scott and other communities in the southeast Kansas area.  I really believe that even after we're gone, young bands will continue to exist in our area.  I hope we had something to do with that.

What matters most to me though, are some of the things that many people outside of the band may not even know about us.  Things that only the four of us would really appreciate.  Never once have we had any arguments, fights or serious disagreements among the four of us.  Whether in band practice, the studio or onstage, we have always been able to get along with one another.  We are obviously four very different people, with four very unique ideas, personalities and morals.  Undoubtedly this fact has probably been something that prevented us from being best friends outside of the band.  But somehow, the relationship worked.  We have something that so many bands seem to lack.  There is a definite chemistry, as well as a mutual respect and appreciation of each other's abilities.  This behavior toward each other has helped us to outlast a countless number of bands in the area and forced us to become disciplined and 'mature beyond our years,' as I once said.

Our relationship resulted in the creation of a sound that I still feel is completely unique.  It's clear that Pond Monkeys can not easily be classified as emo, screamo, hard-core, pop-punk or anything else that is more marketable or more popular in our area.  No doubt this has made it twice as hard for us to gain fans.  But I don't care.  We have thrived on being different and have worked hard to evolve with each CD release.  Never once have we sacrificed our so-called 'artistic integrity' to be more accessible.  I think our latest album, Breathing Buildings, is testament to that.

We still plan to release Breathing Buildings in time for our annual Good Ol' Days show on June 4.  The Good Ol' Days show might be our last performance together, at least for the immediate future.  If you can make it, we would love to have you there to rock with us one last time.  I'll be filming the event as I plan to release a DVD soon after featuring footage, music and lots of photos of the band and our fans from the past several years.  I'd love to see as many people as possible on the DVD.

Daniel is planning to depart for Nashville, TN, within the week or so following our last show.  This is something that he has been talking about doing for a while now, and I wish him the best of luck with his music and work.  Derek, Austin and I will be staying in the area--at least for the next year.  I plan to finish college at Pittsburg, and it looks like Austin will probably be joining me next year.  I would love nothing more than to continue to play as the original Pond Monkeys, just Derek, Austin and myself, but there are some new priorities that probably will not allow for that, at least for the time being.  Nonetheless, Austin and I plan to keep writing and recording together, as we're brothers, and we don't have much else to do.

The band once discussed moving with Daniel to Nashville when the time came, but with my scholarship opportunities here at PSU and because of some other issues affecting the band, this isn't the best course of action right now.  However, we still plan to heavily promote Breathing Buildings even when Daniel is gone, and if a good opportunity should present itself for the band, we are all determined to pursue it.  It's possible that we'll look into booking a few shows in the Nashville area over the summer.

I know that this writing is all a bit pretentious.  It seems to imply that I think people care about what happens to Pond Monkeys.  I'm not too arrogant to realize that outside of our little southeast Kansas area, we're an unknown band.  Heck, there are lots of kids in Fort Scott who still don't even know who we are.  But it doesn't matter.  Playing with Derek, Austin and Daniel has given me so much hope and happiness.  I do not want Pond Monkeys to come to an end.  Music is my passion--specifically, writing and performing with this band.  I have always been and remain committed to pursuing a lifetime career in music, and I would love to see that dream come true with Pond Monkeys.

I can only imagine how I'll feel when Pond Monkeys is no longer a part of my life.  This band has meant so much to me.  I can only hope that Pond Monkeys has meant something to our friends and fans as well.

(4/6/04)

This "...words from the band..." page won't be up much longer.  I think I'll start using the message board to post announcements.  Maybe that'll send a few more viewers over, and just might get some more folks involved with our heated Lost discussions.  There are several announcements to be made within the next two weeks so watch out for those.  http://pondmonkeys.proboards46.com

The new CD is coming along very nicely.  Target date: June 4 Good Ol' Days Show.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the new album.  It is sounding very...dare I say it... mature.  Don't get me wrong, there are some rockers on there--some of our hardest and heaviest yet--but there's a lot of...mellower...stuff sprinkled in.  Put some sugar with all that salt.  I am very proud of the way the new music flows together.  If you or someone you know has never much cared for Pond Monkeys before, this album just might convert you.  If you like Pond Monkeys because we're a local band, but your true-love is hardcore/screamo, then you will hate this album.  Yes, indeed, I reckon we'll alienate half of our already small fanbase with Breathing Buildings.

Oh yeah, that's the name of the new CD.  Breathing Buildings.  It's one of Daniel's suggestions that I actually agreed to.  I don't know, with recent incidents, the title just works for me.  It conjures up some images of our world, society, and how fast-paced our lifestyles seem to be, with buildings seemingly "breathing" people in and out.  More literally, but still not literal, it describes the buckling buildings (ooo, there's another good one) of the recent fire in downtown Fort Scott.  I don't think any of those ideas are what Daniel had in mind, but who knows.

We currently have lots of shows leading up to the CD release and we're working on more.  Stay tuned to the website.

Thanks so much to those of you reading this.  We in the band really appreciate it, and we're really excited about giving you the new music.

(2/16/05)

Well, first off, I finally got around to putting up a message board.  I hope it works out.  These things can be a lot of fun, or a complete disaster.  I'm hoping for the former.  It's up at http://pondmonkeys.proboards46.com.  You should check it out, register as a member, and start up some conversation.  Good times will be had, as long as Tanner Cheney wills it.

I recently posted the band on http://myspace.com/pondmonkeys and that has been very cool.  It's quite an addicting little thing, but it's given me the opportunity to introduce Pond Monkeys to a wide range of people that would never have heard us otherwise.  Most seem to respond positively.

I am usually pretty modest, but I am gonna go out on a limb here and say that our last couple of shows have been incredible.  Thanks so much to all of you have seen us in Joplin this past month.  You've put off a good vibe and energy, and I think we've been responding quite well to that.  As long as people keep coming to our shows, we'll keep putting on energetic performances.  Derek will, anyway.  Our next gig at The Bridge on February 26 is shaping up to be very awesome.  Hopefully you can make it out.

The CD is in the works, but it may be pushed back by a month or so.  Normally that would frustrate me, but in this case, it's a result of a recent burst of song-writing and creativity.  The dam has burst, and we've been firing out solid hits left and right with no end in sight.  Rest assured, the CD will come, and when it does, it will hit you in the face like a sack full of bricks.

I'm just being ridiculous.  But seriously.  It will hit you in the face like a sack full of bricks.

(1/29/05)

We played earlier this evening at The Bridge with our good pals in Army Of Prawnz.  Austin filled in on bass for AOP and did quite well if I may say so myself.  Thanks again to John at The Bridge who always has kind words to say about our band and has been nice enough to book us on numerous occasions.  John and The Bridge have helped us a ton in exposing our music to the Joplin, MO, crowd.

We've been performing mostly new material at our shows, and we have a whole lot more in the works which should be debuted soon enough.  The new recordings are coming along.  We'll have an album name soon and we're looking to get the CD out in April.  Stay tuned.

Thanks again for all of your support, and I look forward to seeing you at a future show!

A huuuuge thank you to Paperface for getting us on the bill for our first Tulsa, OK, performance this past weekend.  The guys in Paperface have always been awesome to us and we really appreciate it.  They just released a brand spanking new CD, so if you're reading this, you might want to check that out.  www.paperfaceonline.com/

Alright alright alright alright alright.  A couple of shows are coming up and even more are in the works.  We'll probably be focusing most of our shows on our latest material.  Watch out for some brand new songs at the upcoming events.  Hope you enjoy.

(12/24/04)

Happy Holidays.  Things have been kind of quiet on the website lately.  We've been keeping something of a low-profile while we work on our new album and plan for some new shows.  Lots of new material is headed your way and you can expect the new CD to drop within a couple of months.  The songs are shaping up quite nicely and I hope that you will agree.  Dust off your dancin' shoes, 'cuz Pond Monkeys are gonna make you move.

Stay tuned to the website for a boatload of shows to start coming your way in January.  We are really pushing to make 2005 our best year yet, and we'll need your help!

Ok.  Bye bye.

(9/30/04)

Lyrics to a handful of new songs are up in the MUSIC section.  New t-shirts available this week!  Booya.  Several new pieces of PRESS have been added.

Gosh, I've never felt so important in my life.  Modesty be damned: to read about the celebrity that is Alex (myself), look no further than this week's edition of the PSU Collegio in which I earned an entire sentence in a features story simply for showing up to an Open Mic Night at the university.  No, I didn't perform anything, nor was I asked to grace the Collegio with a witty quote.  Not sure what's more amusing/depressing: the fact that my appearance deserved to be mentioned in an article or the fact that I was at an Open Mic Night, alone, on a Friday night.  Afterwards, however, what the gossip columnists failed to mention was that I could be spotted dancing on a bar-top with Paris Hilton at P. Diddy's birthday bash.  Ben Affleck was there.

(9/16/04)

We are taking about a month off from performing to write and revise new material.  If you've heard our new stuff and liked it, good--because you can expect to hear more.  I like it.  It's got that beat...that beat that gets the kids tapping....  Lyrics will come soon.  New shirts are also on the way.  I'm excited about 'em.  Derek and Austin designed.  The shirts have that look....that look that'll get the kids fired up.  Check back sooooooon.

(9/2/04)

Rock the Vote was good.  Good shows to come.  New songs in the works, stick with us.  Keanue Reeves celebrates his birthday today.  The big foot comment is not mine--it's Mitch Hedberg's.

(8/29/04)

Last night's show at The Bridge was very pleasant.  Several Fort Scotians made the trip down to Joplin (Duncan, Holly, Sammi, Trent, Zack, Jillian, Katie, Joey, among others...) which was very much appreciated.  The Bridge is quite a venue.

Wednesday is a Rock The Vote concert at Pittsburg University.  I have no idea how large the crowd will be, assuming there is a crowd at all, but I am extremely excited to be a part of this.  It is an honor for our band to have been invited to volunteer for Rock The Vote.  Note: This is a completely bipartisan affair that is focusing solely on voter registration.  Please check out this link to help find out which presidential candidate would be best for you: http://selectsmart.com/president/.  It may prove helpful.

And in the press section is another lovely picture of Austin gracing the cover of the PSU Collegio advertising Rock the Vote.

Adios.

(7/15/04)

El bummero.  I made an executive decision earlier to declare tomorrow's show "CANCELLED."  This show has caused nothing but mass confusion and it's probably best to just cut our losses and move on, soldier.  On Monday, the Spitfire website (the original location for the show) had some posts on the forum concerning the closing of said venue.  I e-mailed the booking person from Spitfire in KC and was informed that, yes, the Spitfire was closing, but the show was most likely going to be moved to Bender's in Kansas City, MO.  Cool beans.  But the Bender's website never posted the show, and I never received a confirmation e-mail (after a couple of my inquiries) from the Spitfire as to the venue change.  But the modified show remained posted on the Spitfire calendar leading me to believe that it had officially been moved.  Why would I think such a thing?  Because that's what one of the posts said: [some guy named...] Matt- "are those [shows] that have been changed to benders correct? " [Spitfire booking agent replied with a decidedly unambiguous]- "yes they are."  And so our Spitfire-turned-Bender's show remained posted on the Spitfire website.  Until yesterday.  Then the show was removed from the Spitfire site, though some other Spitfire shows remained posted, despite the venue's closing, and there was still no mention of it on the Bender's site.  So I launched myself a couple more e-mails to the booking dude along with a couple inquisitive posts on the Spitfire message board, all to no avail.  I called Bender's today and the man I spoke with had no idea of anything I was speaking.  Which means either I have gone nuts or... well, it led me to making the final decision to call the show "CANCELLED."

I thought this was best because there were a few people from Manhattan, Leavenworth, and some other not-so-far-away towns, that were planning on attending.  Though it would blow for us to drive two hours to discover our show had been cancelled, it would blow even harder for them because 1) we're used to these things happening and 2) they could have been doing something more significant, like seeing the premiere of I, Robot.  Fear not, I have been dealing with this non-communication-situation in good company.  Earlier this evening, Austin received a phone call from one of the good men in the KOALA BEAR SYNDROME, one of the three bands scheduled to perform with us.  Apparently they too have been trying to figure out what is occurring.  They had no new information to share with us, but I appreciate their contacting Pond Monkeys, and they have a very good band name.  If you, the reader, ever get the chance to see KOALA BEAR SYNDROME in concert, I suggest you do so.  I'm sure they're great.

This has been a test of the PMS Emergency Broadcasting System

(7/10/04)

Yeah yeah yeah.  New bios have been updated in the band section.  Shows this week:  Kansas City at the Spitfire on Friday, July 16, and in Pittsburg at the Foxtown, Saturday, July 17.

Unfortunately Daniel will be unable to perform on July 31 for the Liberty Theatre show.  So instead of a band performance, the rest of us will be putting on something a little different.  I encourage you to check it out.  It will be interesting to say the least.

Dodgeball and Anchorman...both playing at the theater.  Glorious.

-alex

(6/28/04)

July is going to be an extremely busy month for the band.  Which is good.  Shows are coming at ya left and right.  We'll kick it all off this Wednesday, June 30, with our first ever all-acoustic set on Real Rock 101.7 FM.  Tune in about 7:00pm or so as I believe we're scheduled to start around 7:30pm.  We'll perform a handful of songs which may or may not include a few surprises.  I say "may or may not" because 1) I honestly don't know what we'll be playing and 2) maybe I can get you to listen out of curiosity.  And by "you," I mean you Mr. Matt Brown.

-alex

(6/11/04)

Yee-hawww.  The Good Ol' Days show was a blast!  Thanks so much to everyone who came out to support us, Heads Up, and Bobby Wintle from Parsons, KS.  There's some great pictures up in the photos section if you haven't checked them out yet.  The Cannonball Picnic EPs are moving very well and I hope you're enjoying the new music.

There are some awesome shows coming up, and I'm booking more as I type.  Just booked:  July 16 at the Spitfire in Kansas City, MO, with Sarcasm and Koala Bear Syndrome.  Don't forget shows on July 2 in Carthage at Jim's Place, July 3 Sterlstock and July 17 at the Foxtown in Pittsburg.  New songs will be debuted!

I'll be absent until the 20th due to my involvement on a mission trip.  No updates until then.  Keep on rocking.

-alex

(5/14/04)

On June 5, 2004, Pond Monkeys will release The Cannonball Picnic EP.  That is the date of our annual performance at the Fort Scott Good Ol' Days.  If my calculations are correct, this will be our sixth consecutive year playing the show.  We've matured so much as a band over the past six years that I can't imagine a better opportunity to release a CD that best exhibits this maturation.  There are five songs on this EP--the five songs that we in the band feel are best representative of us.  We spent two days at Woodland Studios recording these tracks in April, and I couldn't be happier with the results.  Never have I been this excited about the music we've recorded.  For the first time in the studio, I think we captured the energy of our live show and the different personalities that make up our band.  We went into the studio prepared to give it our all, and for once, I am truly proud of what we have accomplished.

I can only hope that you'll be as pleased as I am.  Despite spending only 13 hours in the studio, this EP is packed with guitars and ideas.  To get the full effect, check it out with some headphones.  Seriously.  Phil Ward, the studio engineer, did an amazing job creating a dense soundscape that is loaded with details that will take repeated listens to catch.  Intricate guitar parts, pounding bass lines, and lots and lots of well-rehearsed vocal harmonies are layered over Austin's distinct drumming.  Ah yes, the drums are awwwwesome on this CD!  Our secret weapon is the drums!  They are cranked to the max and make this EP rock!  (Don't tell Austin I said that; he'll get a bigger head...)

To cover the costs of professionally having these songs recorded, produced, and pressed, the EP will have to be sold for $5.  I admit that it's a bit more than I would like to charge, but it's still a price that I think is very reasonable.  I hope you'll agree.

Last remark:  All of us in the Pond Monkeys are so thankful for all of your support.  Whoever you are, if you're reading this, you've undoubtedly had some kind of influence on our band.  I know I speak for us all when I say that we are so appreciative of the people who have supported us over the past 6 or so years.  It's sometimes hard to be taken seriously because of our young ages, but to all the venues, radio stations, and concert organizers that have taken a chance on us, thank you so much--you've made us feel like rock stars.  But we realize what we really are--a bunch of punk kids spending their free time making music--and we never forget that.  The Pond Monkeys would never, ever, take anyone's support, or anyone for that matter, for granted.

A few people are actually digging our music--what more could I possibly ask for?

(4/14/04)

I've been having trouble with the guestbook.  I'll get to work on that.  It may be time for a new one.  If you'd like to be on the mailing list, and who wouldn't, ship an e-mail our way.  Honestly, I don't send out that many newsletters anyway.  Ah, and today I may book us a new show that should be quite exciting.  Check the show dates soon.

-alex

(4/12/04)

This weekend we'll be returning to Woodland Studios to begin recording 5 songs: "Your Fiction"; "Play"; "Burn"; "Prepare The Noose"; and "Florence."  We're going to get this EP to numerous radio stations in the area and then we'll need your help to get it played.  I'll post more information about that soon.  We have also been working on several other new songs that we're anxious to record as well, but for now they'll have to wait.  Expect to see them recorded in one way or another by the beginning of summer.

There's a load of shows in the works, so please keep checking the site.  Also be sure to check out the websites of some other great bands we've been playing with like The Rich Kids.  And be listening for our good friends in Axium to be featured on Movie Tunes.  Yeah, that's right.  That's the music that plays before your movies in AMC theaters.  Head over to their site to find out more about this very cool opportunity for them.

(2/12/04)

Derek and Austin here. Were just chilling in school, killing time. Were trying some new stuff, you know, songs. Its kind of a new direction for us, we guess. Actually, weve both realized that lately, all of our new stuff, is well, nice and simple. But seriously, we got some really rockin stuff on the way. Weve also been working on our stage presence. We got the guy that helped teach Justin T how to dance. Yeah, hes been helping us with our moves and coordination. We also talked to Mr. And Mrs. Campbell about getting some fireworks for our shows. Get some explosions in there. You know you want it. Hell, you need it.

(1/29/04)

I'll see what I can do to get the rest of the band to write some words here.  For now, I'll just give you (and by "you," I mean you Mr. Matt Brown) a rundown of what's happening.

2004 is shaping up to be an amazing year!  We have several top-secret shows in the works that aren't listed on the calendar quite yet.  If all goes as planned, Pond Monkeys will be rockin' with some awesome bands at some very cool venues.  Stay tuned.

In April the band shall be returning to Woodland Studios to record.  The new EP will feature some brand new songs (some of which don't exist yet, as we're assuming that our best work will be written during the next two months) as well as a few songs we've been playing live.

We've postponed the dates for the Madison Square Garden and the Kemper Arena shows.  If you've already purchased a ticket, hold on to it; the ticket will be valid for the rescheduled show.  Sorry for the inconvenience.
